Two dead, five hurt in Iowa auto crash

JAMAICA, IOWA – Two people are dead and five hurt in an Iowa auto crash Tuesday, authorities say.

At approximately 11:35 AM Tuesday, April 28, the Iowa State Patrol reports, one minor driver (age 16) along with six minor passengers were involved in a single vehicle crash near 12131 Beaumont Place in Jamaica, Iowa. The 2014 Toyota Sienna was Northbound on Beaumont Place when the driver lost control and struck a field entrance.

At this time, there are two confirmed fatalities (ages 8 and 5) and five of the victims have been taken to Des Moines area hospitals with serious to life threatening injuries.

Names will be withheld until all next of kin have been notified.

The crash is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
