SPIRIT LAKE — Harvey Melven Berg, a Forest City native remembered as a steady, caring family man with deep love for those closest to him, has died at age 70.
Berg passed away on May 28, 2026, in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
He was born on August 9, 1955, in Forest City, the son of Melven and Florence Berg. Throughout his life, Harvey was known as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Those who knew him will remember his calm presence, kind heart and the way he placed family at the center of his life.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Nancy; son Andrew and Yulia Berg; daughter Alyssa Berg and Lance Boon; and granddaughter Emery. He is also survived by brothers Bob Berg and Lawrence Berg, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melven and Florence Berg; brother Marvin Berg; and other family members who passed before him.
His family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date.
