According to the Waterloo Police Department, officers and Waterloo Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched at about 3:38 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026, to 3605 Canterbury Court for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old male suffering from gunshot injuries.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where police said he is being treated for serious injuries.
Authorities said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and police do not believe there is an active threat to the community.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police said no further information will be released at this time.
