MASON CITY – Mason City police officers investigated a call Tuesday from a concerned citizen who feared that some people at a park filled with tots were tweaking on meth.
An emergency call was made Tuesday afternoon at about 3:15 PM and Mason City police went to Parker’s Woods, home to brand new playground equipment. The caller was concerned that there were people at the park where the kids were playing that were high on the powerful drug methamphetamine. It wasn’t known exactly what behavior by the individuals in question prompted the concern by the caller.
Police questioned approximately three adults at the scene. Children played and scampered about and other adults with them watched police investigate. The adults questioned seemed to give satisfactory responses, as no arrests were made.
Parker’s Woods is only a couple of blocks from Monroe Avenue, where numerous drug deals, assaults and arrests have been reported in recent months.
