It lets one know the priorities of people and the disregard they have for the importance of education, when relieving coaches garners 72 responses and the reduction of educators only 7.

Everybodys about to get another nice raise in pay. There is NO money shortage in goverment. As the school gets smaller and smaller, higher more and spend more, thats the way goverment does it, never cut back like everybody else

Anita needs to take a huge pay cut! Support staff like para-professionals, custodians, counselors, etc are the ones who are severely under compensated for their work with our children. The schools can’t even afford to have a nurse on staff full time anymore. My daughter wasn’t allowed to have her inhaler at school unless it was locked in the nurse’s office, however the nurse is only there half days. I was told that none of the other teachers or office staff would be able to assist if she needed it because they are not medication certified! Lets cut pay based on the necessity of the position being held!

Is your daughter old enough to understand when and how to use her own inhaler? I would think there would be more liability to refuse to provide someone their prescribed medication that you have locked up and have her stop breathing, rather then let her use it as prescribed…. I guess that policy might be looked at when something bad happens.

No, she was not old enough to use the inhaler without help. Her reactive airway flares without warning. Her pediatrician filled out all of the necessary paperwork for her to have her medication at school. There was no guarantee that it would be available for immediate use or that a nurse would even be there to assist her if needed!

I hope her name is right on top of the list.

I hope Anita is on the list of people to be terminated!

Just how much does Mrs. Micich really make? I have heard 175K, 200K, and 225K. How much does she get from Mason City? Clear Lake? I would just like to hear the correct figures for change. Matt?

This should really be interesting. Maybe she will surprise everyone and she she is going back to Des Moines or just maybe she will gtake a 20% paycut as she makes about 200k.
