Clear Lake man guilty of domestic assault

MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man has pled guilty to criminal mischief and was found guilty of domestic abuse.

Benjamin J. Frederick, age 32 of Clear Lake, pled guilty on June 9 to Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. Frederick was sentenced to 30 days in jail and assessed $1,538.74 in fines and fees.

Also on June 9th, Frederick was found guilty of domestic abuse assault and violation of the protective order connected to the victim in that case. He was sentenced to 9 days in jail and $238.75 in fines and fees. The no-contact order was extended to 2019.

On May 28, Frederick pled guilty in Worth county to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was assessed $282.75 in fines and court costs.

On June 24th, a charge of public intoxication brought by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was dismissed.
