Two people shot, two suspects arrested on attempted murder charges in Postville, Iowa

POSTVILLE, IOWA - Two people were shot, and two suspects were arrested on attempted murder and other charges in Postville, Iowa, Monday evening.

POSTVILLE, IOWA – Two people were shot, and two suspects were arrested on attempted murder and other charges in Postville, Iowa, Monday evening.

Authorities say that on March 13, 2023 at approximately 5:08 p.m. Postville Police department was dispatched to 439 State Drive after multiple 911 calls reference shots fired with injuries. Two individuals were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. One male was later transported to Gundersen La Crosse for further treatment for gunshot wounds.

Upon completion of the investigation two males were arrested.

Ayale Abullahi Ali, 19, of Postville was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder (Class B Felony), Burglary in the 1St Degree (Class B Felony), Reckless use of a Firearm (Class C Felony), and Going Armed with Intent (Class D Felony).
Mohamed Ahmed Nour, 22, of Postville was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder (Class B Felony), and Burglary in the First Degree (Class B Felony).

There is no concern for public safety. Postville Police Department was assisted by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Monona Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation.

No further information will be released at this time. This case remains under joint investigation by the Postville Police Department, Division of Criminal Investigation, and The Allamakee County Attorney’s Office.
