WASHINGTON – A right-wing politician who is running for Congress – and is still Iowa’s Secretary of State – has been named by the Washington Post as one of “40 under 40 people to watch”.

According to the Post, the list focuses on “people who have made names for themselves in politics outside of Washington, D.C. – state-level politicians, mayors, local officials and operatives – but could soon be known to all of us.”

In reaction to being named to the list, Schultz said Tuesday that he is “honored to be included in the Washington Post’s 40 under 40 people to watch. Glad to be joined by Iowa State Rep. Pat Grassley as well as other great up and coming leaders in our country like Mia Love and T.W. Shannon.”

Schultz is a candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, in southwest Iowa. He is a Republican, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a Creighton University School of Law graduate in 2006.

I wonder if Schultz has checked to see if the other 39 people on this list with him are really under 40 years of age?

As I have stated before, there are some good Republican/Conservatives out there.
But Matt Schultz is not one of them.

Schultz has proven that he been a debacle as Secretary of State, a cluster**** if if you will.

Schultz has no business being in an elected office.

The Washington Post is about as far left as you can get. Nothing they say means squat.

So, it sounds like you and watchdog agree that Schultz isn’t worth watching? I would agree with that. Give him a little more time and we will watch him sputter and fail.

@bodacious-I don’t know anything about Schultz. But, I do know about the Washington Post. I have heard both good and bad about the guy. I would never vote for someone just because he was a Republican just like I wouldn’t not vote for someone because he is a Democrat. I voted Democrat for a long time before the party went so far left.

What a crock of xxxx!

So because a person is a Republican and conservative he is labeled “right wing”.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as right wing or left wing. There are conservatives and socialists. One believes in self reliance and the other believes the Gov’ment should give them everything.

Labels are for the dim witted. Washington Post?
