Re: really?
Look @ the time stamps of comments. From the first comment it seems there was less info provided in the article than there is now.
I don’t understand why the youth center is taking up a collection for a criminal. They get the 20,000 cash bond he was out waiting sentencing on in this assault case. http://globegazette.com/news/local/mason-city-man-charged-with-willful-injury/article_8eb7c12a-f546-11e0-93cb-001cc4c03286.html
I say we take up a collection for the victims medical bills of this thug.

How was he Member of the North Iowa Youth Center 2004-2009 when he was in jail from 2006 on?
I know that we are taught to respect the family of the passing of a loved one, but what about the respect that should of been taught by the parents to this young man to show respect and not to steal or do harm onto others? Myself I feel bad for his untimely death but Im sick and tired of the things these guys do to others, then they die and people make them out to be angels. I cant respect this benefit. His parents or whoever raised him shoild be the ones that need to feel really awful.
His dad is in prison for dealing death on the steets of Mason City.
can none of you have any respect for the family? the past is the past! this is now, and honestly, the least they need is a little respect. who cares what he did back then? his family and friends still loved him, and always will, so show some respect. people these days!
C’ommon, have some respect here! This is a different chap, The Steve H. of the ill repute scene was in his thirties. This kid was only 21. Do your research!
this is the Steven H that did get into some trouble but he had turned his life around. the past is the past, but no one cares about that. they only see the negative never the positive. i am not sure about the felony charge someone posted about the bond, but people need to grow up and move on and let this family grieve with out all the idiots coming out of the wood work.
Thanks for the suggestion on more background on this. It has now been added.
Thanks Matt for the rest of the story. Much obliged.
Maybe Mr.Hill will be there from Missouri.
For those of us who are not familiar, a background on Steve Huerta please.
Why?
I don’t think Observer was meaning anything bad. Just wants to know a little more about him as a person. Like, hobbies interests, etc.
I see now there is a link to a story here about him. From what I originally read, I had no idea if he had passed away or what.
You had no idea? “Steven Huerta Jr., 21, died Thursday in Mason City after an accident.”
