Colleen Niedermayer is running for Mayor of Mason City. Here is her announcement as provided to NIT:
I’m running for Mayor of Mason City. I want to listen to all the citizens of Mason City and improve our community for today and the future of our city. My plan is to improve communication, focus on more opportunities for children and young people, promote Mason City while focusing on our big and small businesses, and making our city better for all of our citizens.
I have a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. After graduation I went to work for Lehigh Cement Company in Union Bridge, MD for two years. I was then transferred here to the Mason City plant 13 years ago where I am the Quality Control Manager. My family and I are members of the First Congregational Church where I am on the Board of Trustees and the Reserve Fund Committee.
