DES MOINES – Recently, the Iowa Board of Medicine took the following actions:

Erin Gotz, an individual from Dubuque, Iowa, who does not hold an Iowa medical license, was issued a Notice to Cease and Desist from engaging in the unauthorized practice of medicine on August 6, 2012.

The Board received information which indicates that Ms. Gotz uses tuning forks and crystals to diagnose health conditions and she prescribes high-dose vitamins to her clients.

The Board has serious concerns that the use of high-dose vitamins may be toxic and could cause serious harm.

Consumers can submit complaints against physicians through the Board’s Website at http://www.medicalboard.iowa.gov, by calling (515) 281-5847, or by mail at 400 SW 8th Street, Suite C, Des Moines, IA 50309-4686.
