MASON CITY – Police broke up a domestic incident late Tuesday at a North End residence and took a wanted Des Moines man to jail.
Police said that the incident unfolded at about 11:45 PM Tuesday at 622 North Penn Ave. Officers were dispatched for what was reported as a burglary in progress. Dispatchers were alerted that a black male with a ‘gun on his hip’ was trying to break into the residence.
Police, however, said that the situation was not a break-in.
“It ended up to be more of a domestic-type argument between various people,” an officer told NIT Wednesday.
According to a source, a number of people were at the scene, with yelling and screaming taking place. A person who stopped to watch told NIT that “vehicles had windows busted on them from black females.”
Police sorted out the situation and arrested a convicted felon, 34-year-old Littleton William Clark of Des Moines, who was wanted on Polk county arrest warrants for violating terms of his parole from prison. He had been wanted since October 7, 2013.
Clark is in the Cerro Gordo County Jail awaiting transport to Des Moines.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
