WAVERLY – The Mason City High School Orchestra has been invited to perform with the Wartburg Symphony at their concert on December 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Nuemann Auditorium in Waverly.
MCHS Orchestra will be coming efforts with members of the Waverly-Shell Rock Orchestra as well.
“MCHS Orchestra members are looking forward to working with Dr. Daniel Kaplunas, who conducts the orchestra,” according to the Mason City School District website.
Dr. Kaplunas is originally from Lithuania, received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in music from the University of North Texas and completed his doctoral studies at the University of Georgia. Dr. Kaplunas will visit the MCHS orchestra on Monday, November 25 to work with the group prior to the concert.
