I voted at the courthouse today for Max Weaver and Leonard Foster. We need representation for all citizens. Get out and vote early!!!

I spoke with Jodi Draper 2 or 3 days ago as she knocked on my door. I asked her many questions. What I liked the most, she would not and did not say anything negative about anyone. She Kept to the issues and let me talk as she listened. Common Sense and Class. This lady has it all. My vote is for Jodi Draper for Ward 2! So impressed!

When max was running for council again Marinos and all of the people on this site were like “vote the bums out” and bashing the elitist Marinos vs the common man, Max Weaver. And on election day nobody went out and voted and he got crushed, I almost remember a 2 to 1 margin. Talk is cheap NIT readers, actions speak louder than words. Whether you like Matt or not, Jodi or not, Max or not, you need to go vote.

Yeah, facts are such an annoyance Kelmar.

=== In the Third Ward race, former mayor Jean Marinos beat current councilman Max Weaver by about 450 votes, 1054 to 605. Marinos says she looks forward to serving the city once again. Marinos says her positive campaign turned into results at the ballot box yesterday. Marinos says she’s looking forward to working with the new council on several issues.

Here’s another tasty history treat from 2011. History reminds me that the “common folk in Mason City” were all about Servantez and she is going to win(sound familiar Jodi Draper fans?), it wasnt if she was going to win, but how much was she going to crush Kuhn…it was just a matter of time. The polls spoke differently. 988 votes for someone I consider a good citizen of Mason City is a sign that people bitched and moaned and wanted people out and change to happen in council, but when it came to actually voting, either they didnt go, or they couldnt vote….So Kelmar you can bitch and moan about semantics of my sentence, or you can support your candidate and get people excited about others to get out and vote, or this story will happen again with different names! I dont care who you vote for, BUT VOTE!

Alex Kuhn walked away with the at-large race. Kuhn received 3919 votes, or 74% to beat Sandy Servantez, who received 988, and Jose Barragan, who had only 323. Kuhn says he was happy with the results. Kuhn says he wants to bring a positive approach to the table in tackling a number of issues.

Doubt there will be the big debate . from the coffee shop crowds it appears that Matt has a good chance as does Jodi. Big concern with Matt is if he is going to turn the council meetings into a Gotcha event. Hopefully if he gets elected he will reach out to other officials and say let’s clear the slate. If that doesn’t happen Matt will be totally ineffective and it will be very hard for him to get mch don in his ward. Hope that isn’t the case but if you are in the minority and always on the attack it usually doesn’t end well.

Bookmeyer for re-election!

The “coward” incumbants have said they will not debate. They collectively say their wonderful record speaks for itself. This is just more elitist bullshit from this “rat pack”. VOTE THE BUMS OUT!

Curious, have all the candidates confirmed whether or not they will be attending this candidate forum?

If I was to bet on the election I would say Matt is in for sure, Jodi a great chance, Max and Foster no. The chamber and self proclaimed gods of MC will be leaning heavily on all their cronies to vote to continue their strangle hold on the blue collar of MC. This will most effect the mayors race and the at large race. It will take an exceptionally large turn out of all us other voters to change the tide and that rarely happens.

Exactly right about voter turnout. Think about it. There are many, many more “common” people in MC than country club types. The common people have the ultimate power in this city IF they bother to vote. It’s that simple. If I were to guess, I’d say at least 70% of the people who comment on this site (and are MC residents) won’t vote. How do we change this?

70% of the 2 dozen people who comment on this site isn’t going to sway the elections much any direction!

Organize a voting party. Invite at least 10 people you know that don’t normally vote and make an event out of your civic duty.

Sorry. I only hang out with people who vote. No idea who doesn’t, as far as actual names.

First clue of the mayor and council you are dealing with:

1)It took an organization to bring it together and a mayor from ANOTHER town to mediate. WHO HAS to do this? What does that tell you!

2) Either way Bookmeyer is toast! Weaver will knock em out with knowledge and correct his lies or if he is a no show a definate knock out. BOOM

Just stay home Eric, your mouth will get you out before the no show part. Or will it?

From the mouth of Flounder…This is gonna be gggREAT!

How many think Bookmeyer will show up?

Or put out some crack cocaine and get Todd Blodgett to show up!

About time! Will the chicken shits show up? Bookmeyer?

Either way is NOT good and I find it terribly FUNNY!
