A recent poll shows that the approval rating of the U.S. Congress has plummeted to a new low of 11%.
Gallup reported the results of a poll based on telephone interviews conducted Oct. 3-6, 2013, with a random sample of 1,028 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states. Americans give Congress an 11% job approval rating, Gallup said, down eight percentage points from September and one point above the worst rating in Gallup history.
Democrats have only a 5% approval rating of Congress, while Republicans came in at 15% and Independents at 13%.
