MASON CITY – Skipping a batterer’s education class has landed a Mason City man in jail.
Mark Edward Torres, 38, plead guilty in March of 2012 to a domestic abuse charge from the previous year, which involved an injury to the victim. He was ordered to complete a batterer’s education program as part of his sentence, which included a short time in jail.
On August 5th, Judge Karen Salic issued a warrant for Torres’ arrest. He was arrested Friday and taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail at about 6 PM. He is being held on $2,000.00 cash-only bond.
