Turkey invades Syria, Trump says it’s “bad idea”; U.S. allies in harm’s way

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Turkey has invaded war-torn Syria after President Donald Trump gave the green light to the NATO nation, putting U.S.-allied Kurds in the area in harm’s way.

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham laid out the dire situation for the Kurds, who have fought for years with America against ISIS, Saddam Hussein and other murderous outfits in the Middle East and who happen to also be in the crosshairs of the Turks, saying, “Pray for our Kurdish allies who have been shamelessly abandoned by the Trump Administration. This move ensures the reemergence of ISIS.”

President Trump

President Donald Trump pulled American forces out of the immediate area and allegedly told the President of Turkey during a phone call to go ahead and invade Syria, saying, “This morning, Turkey, a NATO member, invaded Syria. The United States does not endorse this attack and has made it clear to Turkey that this operation is a bad idea. There are no American soldiers in the area. From the first day I entered the political arena, I made it clear that I did not want to fight these endless, senseless wars —especially those that don’t benefit the United States. Turkey has committed to protecting civilians, protecting religious minorities, including Christians, and ensuring no humanitarian crisis takes place —and we will hold them to this commitment. In addition, Turkey is now responsible for ensuring all ISIS fighters being held captive remain in prison and that ISIS does not reconstitute in any way, shape, or form. We expect Turkey to abide by all of its commitments, and we continue to monitor the situation closely.”

Elizabeth Warren

Possible Trump oponent Senator Elizabeth Warren, who happens to be leading some polls in the race for the Democratic nomination for President, said this morning, “Trump recklessly betrayed our Kurdish partners and cleared the way for Turkey’s invasion of Syria—reopening the door for ISIS and furthering a humanitarian crisis. We should bring our troops home, but we need to do so in a way that protects our security.”

Tulsi Gabbard, another Democratic candidate for President who also served in the American armed forces, said today, “President Donald Trump isn’t removing our troops from Syria. He’s just moving them from the northern Syrian border, allowing Turkey to invade Syria & slaughter the Kurds. Trump lied to the Kurds, promising them our support while simultaneously preventing them from reconciling with the Syrian government and coordinating a common defense against Turkish invasion. The impending slaughter & ethnic cleansing of the Syrian by Turkey is happening because Trump refuses to end our efforts to overthrow the Syrian government. The Kurds are just another casualty of this regime change war which is supported by war-mongering Republicans, Democrats, and corporate media.  The hypocrisy of war-mongers like Nikki Haley, Senator Graham & others who have demanded that we continue our regime change war in Syria, who are now crying crocodile tears for the Kurds, is nauseating. Starving the Syrian people through draconian sanctions strengthening terrorists like AQ and ISIS, wasting billions of dollars, creating a refugee crisis, & now this impending genocide & ethnic cleansing of the Kurds — the warmongers consider these costs to be a small price to pay in their effort to change the Syrian regime.”

The trouble began on Sunday, when the White House announced, “Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey by telephone. Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will no longer be in the immediate area. The United States Government has pressed France, Germany, and other European nations, from which many captured ISIS fighters came, to take them back, but they did not want them and refused. The United States will not hold them for what could be many years and great cost to the United States taxpayer. Turkey will now be responsible for all ISIS fighters in the area captured over the past two years in the wake of the defeat of the territorial “Caliphate” by the United States.”

Trump is turning on the Kurds because Russia wants him to. they want to control the oil in Kurdistan and throughout the Mideast. Russia’s biggest oil company is state controlled and they want the oil in Kurdistan. This betrayal will give it to them.

The Kurds and Turks have been fighting for hundreds of years. We have no business fighting over there in Bush’s and Obama’s wars. Trump did exactly the right thing getting our soldiers out of harms way. Not our fight.

Screw the Kurds. Let them fight their own battles or lose. They attack and kill Christians every chance they get.
