Inmate brawl leads to disorderly conduct charges

MASON CITY – Two inmates at the Cerro Gordo County Jail have been charged with disorderly conduct following a fight.

Brian Lloyd Burkett, age 33, and Michael Aaron Canady, 24, were both charged with disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor, after engaging in a fight while incarcerated at the jail on July 1st.

Burkett was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced last week to up to 25 years in prison.

Canady is also awaiting transport to prison.
