FORT DODGE – Multiple residences were shot up in Fort Dodge and police are investigating the incidents.

On Thursday, December 29th, at approximately 6:15 P.M. the Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of the 1700 Blk 1st Ave S. Callers reported hearing numerous shots being fired.

Officers arrived on scene and located evidence indicating shots had been fired. Officers spoke with several individuals in the area trying to determine what had transpired. Investigators were called in to assist on scene. As officers and investigators continued to investigate, they located property damage to multiple residences consistent with being caused by gunfire.

There were no injuries reported in this incident.

At this time investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on this incident. Police encourage anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact the police department. Information may also be submitted anonymously via CrimeStoppers. With all investigations, any video evidence is essential to resolving an incident and we encourage anyone with video footage in the area to offer it to police.

The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
