On Monday, January 2, 2023 at 6:44 PM, Cedar Rapids Joint Communications Agency dispatchers received a call regarding a stabbing in the 2100 block of North Towne Ct. NE. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered an adult female suffering from a stab wound. 29-year-old Devonna Walker was treated on-scene and transported to a local hospital. She did not survive her wound.

Two individuals were detained, transported to police headquarters and interviewed. After consultation with the Linn County Attorney’s Office, both individuals were released pending further investigation.

Police continue to investigate this killing.
