Mason City man arrested on two warrants

MASON CITY – A wanted Mason City man was arrested this week on two warrants.

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Benjamin Jonathon Dalgliesh, 24, near 4th Street SW and Pierce Avenue just after midnight Wednesday.

Dalgliesh was wanted by authorities on two warrants. The first warrant was filed on January 3rd after he had failed to appear in court for a charge of interference with official acts brought by Mason City police after a December 15th, 2012 incident. He plead not guilty on February 7th and will face a trial on May 7th.

The second warrant was issued for a probation violation.  At the September 5th sentencing, Dalgliesh had received probation from Judge Colleen Weiland after being charged with felony third degree burglary after a March 4th, 2012 home invasion.  Dalgliesh had plead guilty and Weiland suspended a $750 fine and a 5 year prison stint.  He still owes $805.00 in court costs in that case.

At this time, Dalgliesh is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
