4 Kinds of Women’s Hairstyles That are Perfect for Any Season

Choosing your next hairstyle can be difficult when you feel like you’ve already done everything there is to be done with your hair. Women who take their hair very seriously often run into this problem and find themselves veering into odd and eccentric styles just to find something new. If you’re the type of person who changes their hair every time the weather fluctuates, you may be struggling to come up with new inspiration. Luckily, there are probably at least a few go-to styles that you’re overlooking. With that said, here are four of the most common hairstyles that work well any time of the year:

  • 1. Layering Longer Hair into a Shag

This style is sort of a reincarnation of the popular 90’s shag, except it stops at collarbone-level and looks more reminiscent of the 1970’s. If you’ve been wearing a parted lob and it’s gotten too long, you can bring it up above your shoulders again by layering it into a shag. This has become a particularly popular style in Hollywood and modeling this year, with online e-zines like MyNewHairStyles.net featuring it in several recent pieces.

  • 2. Side Swept Pixie

Although the pixie is generally a more ideal do for the summer and springtime, the side-swept variety allows your hair to be a bit longer.  A longer and more styled pixie cut serves a dual benefit: for one it’s longer than most pixie styles so it will shield your ears from the cold during the winter, and secondly, it gives your hair an ideal length to quickly try out other short-medium hairstyles.

  • 3. Parted Blunt Lob

This is an ever-present hairstyle that’s worth consideration because it’s easy to maintain and goes great with just about any outfit. Women with short and round faces should try to keep the hair longer, stopping at around the collarbone and jawline, while those with longer faces will want to bring the cut up close to the neck. Another benefit of this style is that doesn’t remove too much of your hair or require anything fancy, so it can easily be undone and transformed into other styles.

  • 4. Bronze Highlights

If you’re trying to decide which colored highlights to go with, consider the color that everyone seems to be going for lately – bronze. Brightening up your hair with bronze highlights is something that can be added to most hairstyles for extra oomph and shine.  Alternatively, similar colors can provide the same caramel ribbon look that you’re going for, so don’t be afraid to take your time when you’re shopping on the hair dye aisle.

  • Subscribing to Hair Magazines and Blogs for Inspiration

Once you’ve already tried all of the above, you could further expand your hairstyle catalog by reading hairstyle magazines and subscribing to the feeds of popular hairstyle blogs. This would be an especially ideal approach for someone who plans on becoming a hair stylist or does their own hair regularly.
