Alleged church robber pleads not guilty

HAMPTON –  A man captured this week after being on the run from Beje Clark Residential Facility in Mason City since October 14th, 2012 has plead not guilty to robbing four churches and 2 other businesses in Hampton late last year.

According to Hampton Police Chief Robert Schaefer, Jeremy Nicholas Mulford, 32, allegedly burglarized six Hampton businesses between November 19th and December 24th, 2012: PJ’s Barber Shop; Franklin County Conservation Building; First Christian Church; Church of the Living Word; St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; and Church of Christ.

Mulford plead not guilty on Tuesday in Franklin County District Court.  A pre-trial conference was set for February 4th, 2013.

Mulford also faces an arraignment on January 22nd regarding his escape from Beje Clark.  He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail at this time.
