NorthIowaToday.com received the following from Cory Chodur of Mason City on Thursday morning, November 15th, regarding the deferred judgement he received on drug charges on November 13th:

I find this article unnecessary and am asking that it please be removed. I don’t understand why your news publication decided to put me back on the spotlight for a crime that happened almost a year ago.Ā Ā The reason for a deferred judgement in my case is to help me go onto school and get help with student aid and to further help me with my career and this article hampers my ability to do so by bringing my name back into the news for employers and schools alike to easily view. Again I find absolutely no reason that this article needed to be posted, so I’m please asking that it be removed. Thanks

NIT response:
Mr. Chodur,
I think the real question here is how did you go free after this crime?Ā Were you not caught with multiple pounds of illegal drugs?Ā What about your past charges of trespassing (multiple), 5th degree theft (multiple), OWI, and contempt of court (multiple)?Ā Perhaps the real story here is that your case demonstrates what is wrong with our courts.Ā You are habitually charged with crimes, and then you go free.Ā What is the real story behind that?Ā And now you blame the media for putting you in the “spotlight”?Ā Your crimes and actions put you in the spotlight, sir.
Enjoy your freedom.
