MASON CITY – The North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force arrested Cory Chodur on February 14th for one Class B felony count of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver, one Class D felony count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, two Class D felony counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
The arrest came after an execution of a search warrant in December at Choder’s residence in which more than 2 pounds of marijuana, a large quantity of cocaine, and a large amount of cash was seized according to a media release.
Days before a pre-trial conference Choder’s lawyer and the prosecution entered in a negotiated voluntary guilty plea agreement.
At the sentencing hearing on Tuesday, November 13th, presiding District Court Judge Christopher C. Foy approved an application to dismiss the two Class D felony counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
Judge Christopher C. Foy then handed down a two deferred judgments on both remaining charges. The 1st deferred judgment was two an amended Class C felony charge of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver. The 2nd deferred judgment was for the original Class D felony count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
Judge Christopher C. Foy imposed a 1,000 fine, but then suspended it for the Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver charge.
Judge Christopher C. Foy ordered Choder to pay a $750 fine for the Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver charge. In addition Choder must repay $451 in court costs and surcharges.
Instead of the potential 40 years in jail Choder had faced if convicted of all the charges he originally faced he has received 3 years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections. If he successfully completes the term of probation under a deferred judgment the drug distribution charges will be stricken from his criminal record.

As part of this program we are starting, civillians walking a beat on the north end the volunteers have to go through the citizens police academy. Last night at the class we talked about this guy and the original arresting officer stated that this loser DID NOT snitch on anybody. The defered sentence was all the attorneys idea and the judge said ok.
Meanwhile, middle class Iowa families are struggling & working multiple jobs to stay afloat, when all we have to do is sling dope & be on probation. Sounds like I chose the wrong way to go about things, I should have joined the dope game. These judges all need to be thrown out before it’s up for vote, screw it, they had chances to clean up Mason City & haven’t done anything except shake hands with all the criminals. This is why Mason City has the reputation it has.
