Convenient for College Students’ Home for the Thanksgiving Holiday
(Mason City) — The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health will host a flu and immunization clinic this Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 9:00 AM to Noon located at our Immunization Clinic in Mohawk Square.
“Many colleges will be on break for the Thanksgiving holiday, so this is a great and convenient way for not only college students, but all members of the family to get vaccinated against the flu and other preventable diseases,” said Karen Crimmings, Disease Prevention and Investigation Service Manager, Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health. “The Health Department strives to make our services available for all residents to further protect our community from the flu and other diseases.”
We offer the following types of flu vaccine:
- Traditional flu shot (ages 6 months and older) $23
- Intradermal flu shots (ages 18-64) $25
- FluMist (ages 2-49) $25
College students and adolescents need additional vaccines as well. The Health Department has the following vaccines on hand:

- HPV – Human Papillomavirus
- Meningococcal (meningitis)
