Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors – April 23, 2013

MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Supervisors met for their regular meeting Tuesday morning at the courthouse.

The board set amounts of flexible benefits spending dollars for county employees.  The flexible benefit will rise from $100 to $110 beginning July 1, 2013 and the insurance employee contribution will increase from $173.00 per month to $181.20 per month for non-bargaining employees.

An update was given on the computer breach that took place at the courthouse. Personnel Director Tom Drzycimski said that 62 employees have signed up for a service paid for by the county to monitor their credit after employee data -mainly limited to workers who use direct deposit with their paychecks- may have been lost during the attack . Treasurer Patricia Wright said that the computer security breach originated at the “county level” and that new firewalls are in place for protection of the courthouse computer system.
