The Mason City Police Department has recently received information that Garret Joyner, a missing 14 year-old boy from Mason City, was involved in a gas drive-off theft from Hartley, Iowa on July 3 at about 2:10 PM.

The driver fits the description of Garret Joyner, and the attendant also got the license plate number.  The vehicle description given by the attendant fits the 2003 white Pontiac Bonneville Garret is believed to have left in.  The license plate number also matches.

It is unknown by family and friends why Garret left or where he may be heading.

The MCPD was assisted in an air search looking for Garret by CERT’s Airborne Search and Rescue Team Thursday morning.

The MCPD is still requesting information from the public on this missing person and asks that anyone with information to call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
