Hit and run damages two cars Thursday in Mason City

A Mason City police officer take a photo of a hit and run incident early Thursday morning in Mason City.

MASON CITY – A Mason City man wants people to be on the lookout for a vehicle he says smashed up his car as well as a car belonging to his girlfriend.

Justice Noling told NorthIowaToday.com that while his car and his girlfriend’s car were parked in front of her home at 609 North Penn Ave., a vehicle rammed into her car, sending it crashing into his car, causing extensive damage.

Justice says the incident took place sometime between midnight and 5 a.m. Thursday.  He says he came outside to warm his car up for work and discovered the damage.  Justice also says that his girlfriend’s car is totaled.

Mason City police determined the model of the vehicle that struck the parked cars by running a part number.  Justice says they determined the vehicle to be a dark green 1994 to 1999 Chevy or GMC truck similar to a Tahoe, Suburban or Yukon.

Anyone with information on this incident should call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
