It is their first title since 1967.
Iowa held only a half-point lead over Minnesota heading into the meet’s final event, the 4×400 relay. Iowa got second, beating Minnesota by less than a second, to pass the Gophers in the team standings and take the title.
Said one fan: “The Hawkeyes won the Big Ten T&F Championships for first time since 1967. Awesome performance! They won the meet by edging out Minnesota on the last event of the meet (4x400m relay).”
