I would like to offer a few comments regarding the man who struck the young seven year old as she approached the school bus in Northwood, Iowa. First my heart goes out to her family, her mother & father along with her extended family. I lost my grandson not that long ago, and he was close to her age at the time so I can easily related to the emotions they are going through.
It is now after the fact; so I can only speculate as to what procedures the law enforcement officials took at the time this man was appended. Did they check his blood for drugs & alcohol? It was reported that he drove through the warning indicators the school bus was displaying without stopping; was he falling asleep at the wheel? It has been rumored that he works at the casino located near there, had he worked all night?
Once more I want to offer my condolences and the prayers of my family to the Halverson family.
