North Korea calls for higher coal output

Pyongyang (KCNA) — The New Year address made by the dear respected Kim Jong Un greatly encourages coal miners in the DPRK to radically increase coal output from the outset of the year.

Ri Yong Yong, vice-minister of Coal Industry, told KCNA:

Kim Jong Un’s New Year address has fanned up patriotism among coal miners.

In the address, he said that innovations should be made in coal-mining and metallurgical industries for revitalization of the nation’s overall economy. This mirrors his deep trust in coal miners.

The coal-mining complexes in Sunchon, Pukchang and Kaechon areas are boosting production.

Large and minor collieries in the northern part of the country are also overfulfilling their daily quota by operating the cutting and transporting equipment at full capacity.

The Tokchon Area Coal-mining Complex is directing big efforts to securing preparatory cutting faces.

The Anju and Kangdong area coal-mining complexes are increasing production by concentrating efforts in collieries with large deposits and favorable mining conditions.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Coal Industry is paying particular attention to providing collieries across the country with face equipment, props and various kinds of accessories.
