Garret Joyner found in Utah, chased by Utah State Police

UPDATE: Missing teen Garret Joyner has been found in Utah.

The Utah State Patrol said today that Garret was spotted on Interstate 70 just outside Salina, Utah.  After an attempt to stop his vehicle, a short high speed pursuit occurred, ending by Garret pulling over.  He was charged with speeding, failure to yield, and failure to signal.

The Mason City Police Department has recently received information that Garret Joyner, a missing 14 year-old boy from Mason City, was involved in a gas drive-off theft from Hartley, Iowa on July 3 at about 2:10 PM.

The driver fits the description of Garret Joyner, and the attendant also got the license plate number.  The vehicle description given by the attendant fits the 2003 white Pontiac Bonneville Garret is believed to have left in.  The license plate number also matches.

It is unknown by family and friends why Garret left or where he may be heading.

The MCPD was assisted in an air search looking for Garret by CERT’s Airborne Search and Rescue Team Thursday morning.

The MCPD is still requesting information from the public on this missing person and asks that anyone with information to call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.

Stealing a car, stealing gas, leading cops on a high speed chase, by posting standards here, is this kid a thug or a misunderstood teen?

Could be his family’s from Chicago or Detroit, you never know.

Amanda Ragan does NOT volunteer. She is paid Cerro Gordo County benefits and a generous salary for her job at Community Kitchen. This is in addition to her State benefits and salary for Senate!

Iowa allows teens at the age of 14 to get a permit to drive either to work or to school only. Which Garret did have.

Someone should check his Facebook page for clues to a secret lover (boyfriend/girlfriend).

Yeah, Facebook, that’s the answer to everything. Just a social gossip forum in my opinion.

Could be a punk on the run, but very unlikely. Things can happen that can change a person’s life in a second. This kid does have a history of being a great kid. Popular in school, role model, nice to others, from a great family, and I could go on and on. Please don’t judge until all facts are known and even then remember God has said it is not our place to judge or you too will be judged.

It might be more possible that he ran away to join the circus.
