Janet Clemons, 81, of Mason City, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 5, at Thornton First United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Thornton. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Thornton is caring for Janet and her family. Her family requests in lieu of flowers memorials in her memory be directed to Thornton First United Methodist Church, Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City or Good Shepherd Health Center.
Janet Bea Clemons was born October 13, 1942, in Mason City, a daughter of Leslie and Gertrude (Toppin) Clemons. She was raised in the Thornton First United Methodist Church and graduated from Thornton High School. She then attended Hamilton Business College and began working at Mercy Hospital in Mason City until her retirement. She became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church when she moved to Mason City. Janet enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was always a very loving, giving and caring person.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Fran, Jean and Marian and brothers Steve and Larry.
She is survived by her brother: C. John (Shirley) Clemons, Clear Lake; nieces and nephews.
