CLEAR LAKE – Two men driving pickup trucks collided near Clear Lake Monday morning, resulting in both suffering injuries.
On May 20, 2024, at about 7:50 AM, a white 2016 Ford F350 driven by 19-year-old Levi Mann of Manly, Iowa, was traveling west on 310th Street when he failed to see a stop sign at the intersection of Eagle Avenue. His F350 collided with a Silver 2020 Ford F150 that was driven by 87-year-old Jerry Jacobs of Garner, Iowa, who was traveling North on Eagle Avenue. Airbags did deploy in both vehicles and the Mann vehicle came to rest on its side in the ditch northwest of the intersection while the Jacobs vehicle spun and came to rest on the shoulder of the road in the northwest corner. Both drivers were the only occupants in their vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to Mercy Hospital for evaluation. Jacobs was transported by Mercy Air Med and Mann was transported by the Clear Lake Fire Medics.
Mann was charged with Failure to Stop in an Assured Clear Distance.
