Ag Secretary Vilsack to travel to Iowa, highlight Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to help American producers access global markets

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ag Secretary and former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack will appear today in Iowa and highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to help American producers access global markets.

On Thursday, August 18, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will travel to Iowa, where he will join U.S. Representative Cindy Axne and U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai at a family-owned and operated farm in Woodward, IA. There, they will discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s ongoing efforts to help America’s producers develop and maintain global markets for the full spectrum of American farm and food products. By boosting agricultural export revenue and volume, these initiatives boost earnings for producers, create jobs, and bolster the economy. The discussion will also highlight how the Inflation Reduction Act will help combat inflation and lower costs for American farmers and families through its provisions – from supporting USDA’s efforts to expand climate-smart agriculture and invest in clean energy infrastructure, to lowering the cost of prescription drugs, bolstering American energy security, and more.
