MacNider Museum’s Holiday Open House goes online

MacNider Art Museum
MASON CITY – Mason City’s Charles H. MacNider Art Museum announced this week that the 2020 Holiday Open House will be an online event. The online event will be Sat., December 12 at 1pm.

The holiday art projects the MacNider has become known for will be continued this year as a Holiday Open House kit. Included in the kit are materials for four craft projects and a Santa letter that can be dropped off in the “Letters to Santa” mailbox in the MacNider Art Museum’s entryway. The online content will include Mayor Bill Schickel reading “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” and project tutorials. This online event and art kits are free, thanks to the generosity of the MacNider and Dettmer families.

The Holiday Open House Kits will be available on Tues., December 8 – ready for pick up – at several locations in the area. There is no charge for the kits and project tutorial videos will be posted as part of the online content. Kits are first come, first served. Please take only what you need and leave the rest for others. Locations for kit pickups are: MacNider Art Museum, Clear Lake Public Library, Rockford Public Library, Rockwell Public, Library, Manly Public Library, Nora Springs Town Hall, Mason City Public Library, Mason City City Hall, and the Mason City Community Kitchen. Hours open vary by business, please call that business before stopping by for hours and kit availability.

Please watch the Museum’s Facebook page and website (macniderart.org) for more details and the online tutorial videos.

Admission to the Charles H. MacNider Art Museum is free. Please visit the Museum’s website, macniderart.org, for the most up to date information and visitor instructions. You can also call the Museum at 641-421-3666.
