NEW HAMPTON — Connie Ann Ellswick, 65, of New Hampton, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by family and friends after a battle with aggressive small cell lung cancer.

Connie Ann Tiemessen was born January 24, 1961, to Raymond and Alice Tiemessen of North Washington. She attended school in North Washington and later in New Hampton.

Over the years, Ellswick worked in several fields, but her family said she found her true calling in in-home childcare. For the past 15 years, she cared for children and families in a role she loved deeply. She remained committed to that work until just one week before her passing.

Ellswick is survived by her children, James Riley of Minnesota; Jennifer Cole of Crestview, Florida; Christina Vera of Davenport; Dennis Gullion of Davenport; Sarah Huff of Dubuque; and Danielle Tiemessen of New Hampton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lesly Mayorga of Davenport and Alex Henderson of New Hampton.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Dale Tiemessen, Roger Tiemessen, Gary Tiemessen and Sandy Cloud, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Chickasaw Event Center in New Hampton. In accordance with Ellswick’s wishes, cremation will take place.
