MASON CITY – A traffic stop landed a Clear Lake woman behind bars.
A Cerro Gordo deputy stopped a vehicle being operated by 35-year-old Lacy Lee Briggs on the evening of February 27, 2018 near 19th Street SW and Taft Avenue in Mason City. After an investigation, Briggs was found to have no proof of insurance nor proper registration for her vehicle. She was arrested for those two infractions and taken to jail.
Briggs was charged in 2017 in Cerro Gordo county with no registration and no insurance. This led to fines and court fees totaling $135.00 and $435.00, respectively. Records show she never made a payment on those balances.
