MANCHESTER, IOWA – Police in the small Northeast Iowa town say a teen was caught with a gun at a high school parking lot.
The Manchester Police Department responded to a complaint of a juvenile who may have been in possession of a firearm in the parking lot of West Delaware High School on September 29, 2017. The incident was investigated by law enforcement and the appropriate charges were prepared. The case has been turned over to juvenile authorities.
A Manchester man, Ted Jenmanson, wrote via social media “I have a son in high school and I want to know why I had to learn about this on Facebook days later, I’m pissed!”
This incident comes after several threats lodged recently in Iowa at schools. As NIT has reported, a threats were sent in Buffalo Center, Mason City, Estherville, Algona , West Des Moines, and Eagle Grove.
There were guns in lots of the trucks at school when I attended. Many young men would pheasant hunt on the way home. Gun racks were everywhere! What’s changed in America isn’t the guns but the attitude of today’s youth who use them to harm or threaten. Half are pissed off angst filled teens who don’t or didn’t have proper manners instilled at home and the other half are weak thin skinned safe space needing babies. When either of these types get mad they’re prone to use a weapon.
Yes this is a generalization but it’s pretty accurate. Time outs and entitlement have led to the messed up society we have. They’ve been plugged into the digital age since birth and are so desensitized to violence it’s the “norm” for them. Sad
We always had guns in our car at school during hunting season. No one took the out and no one got shot! Goofy world we live in now.
