Hillary Clinton email scandal: “I want the public to see my email”

NIT – In a scandal that just keeps getting worse for former First Lady and assumed Democratic front-running 2016 candidate for President Hillary Clinton, she has now asked the State Department to release emails she had kept hidden on a private server.

“I want the public to see my email,” Clinton wrote via social media. “I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.”

It has recently been revealed that Hillary Clinton had set up a private email server for use while she was Secretary of State during President Obama’s first term. She avoided use of a government email account, an account that would be much more open to public records requests than her private email accounts. This kind of behavior is sometimes seen at all levels of government, when officials wish to lead a more secret existence despite their status as a public official.

“The State Department will review for public release the emails provided by Secretary Clinton to the Department, using a normal process that guides such releases,” a State Department spokeswoman said. “We will undertake this review as quickly as possible; given the sheer volume of the document set, this review will take some time to complete.”

The review could take months to complete before any emails are released.

The use of a private email server has raised questions as to why Clinton wished to avoid public records requests or attain a level of secrecy. National security concerns have also been raised.

What is your opinion on Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State?

Time to get rid of the Clinton’s, time to get rid of the Bush’s, time to find statesman and leaders.

Seems strange to me, that with 320 million people in this country we have to keep electing people from the same families over and over.

We need new leadership that can return America to the country that once had it’s pride and values rooted in ethics and honesty.

@watchdog-completely agree. Now, if we can just get our democratic friends to go along it just might work. The problem is the have been sheeple so long I don’t think they can change.

Alright already, I will run for president just as long as you stop bugging me about it.

Of course she wants the public to see them after her aides have edited everything bad out. She sat on it for years and never made them public.

So similar to Sarah Palin’s yahoo emails during her short time as govenor.

There is a federal law that states anybody that has access to top secret material has to use certain servers and the position of governor is NOT one of those positions. I know that you are just trying to shift blame but it won’t work.

@Nichole-And just what does Sahah Palin have to do with Clinton being a crook. You are just trying to divert attention away from the facts as you always do.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE ???

I agree. How many others have (or have had) private email accounts? I imagine it is many throughout the past 30 years. Just another thing the right wingers are hoping will get one of their nut jobs elected president. And, there are way too many intelligent Democrats, Republicans and Independents to elect one of those people as our commander in chief.

@bodacious, what you don’t know is this was not just private e-mail, it was e-mail from her own server that she owns in her house. There is no back up, she can delete whatever she wants to and they can’t be recovered except for a trace of a deleted e-mail on the server. This violates at least two laws and one of them is a Felony that would prohibit her from serving any office and also do prison time.
