MASON CITY – A Mason City man will spend 2 weeks behind bars after he was stopped for drunk driving and then resisted arrest.
On July 16, 2016, 39-year-old Rory Prazak was stopped by Mason City police. After an investigation, officers attempted to place him under arrest for operating while intoxicated, but he resisted arrest. Mason City police tell NIT that Prazak “was directed to the ground while resisting and he suffered some minor cuts and bruises during the altercation.”
Prazak entered a guilty plea to assault on a peace officer and an Alford plea to the drunk driving charge. Prazak will spend 2 weeks in jail, must pay $2,262.75 in fines and court fees and serve 2 years of probation.
