WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) Wednesday announced that Estherville Municipal Airport will receive $696,477 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The funds will be used to rehabilitate the airport’s tarmac. Harkin is a senior member of the Appropriations subcommittee that funds these initiatives.
“Safe and efficient transportation is critical to economic development in Iowa,” said Harkin. “I congratulate Estherville Municipal Airport on being awarded these funds, which will be used to make important upgrades.”
