MASON CITY – A Mason City hotel that has its share of commotion was paid a visit by code inspectors and police after complaints and a stolen bike was found.

Friday at 10:30 AM, several code enforcement personnel went to the American Best Value Inn and Suites, located at 24 5th Street SW. Police tell NIT that the code enforcement were called there to inspect for health, fire, electrical, hotel-motel, rental, and safety code compliance for the motel due to recent complaints.

According to a Mason City police spokesman, “law enforcement did accompany the code officials to ensure their safety and to keep the peace. The code personnel were there for approx 3 hours. No arrests were made but it does appear that 1 stolen bike was recovered.”

The review for compliance at the hotel is still underway, according to police, and code officials are in process of reviewing documentation to determine the next course of action.

Just last week, a possible shots fired incident was investigated at or near the hotel by police.  Police visit the hotel for assault incidents, and other times to search for wanted individuals.  Last year, a toddler wandered from that general location into the road into the path of a semi.

It is going to get worse before it gets better. Good Ol’ River City could surely benefit from some ethnic cleansing. Long time residents of this town want and deserve better leadership. CLEAN IT UP!

Thanks, Bookie for ignoring this “real” hotel and the actual, real problems it is causing and focusing your meager brainpower on this fictitious, never-gonna-happen pipe dream downtown. Talk about getting it ass backwards. Just resign already and focus on your problems at home, little man.

Burn it down. It is probably full of lice, bed bugs and fleas. At least we will get rid of one more drug hang out.

A cess pool of drugs in that hotel. The ones that stay there are the ones even the slum lords won’t rent to.
