MASON CITY – A wanted Kensett woman was transported to jail in Mason City on New Year’s Day.

Angela Marie Honebrink, age 25, was already in custody in Worth county on January 1st when she was taken to Mason City on an arrest warrant.  She was wanted in Cerro Gordo county for a probation violation related to charges of operating while intoxicated and child endangerment. Honebrink had been placed on one year’s probation last year after judge Gregg Rosenbladt dismissed a charge of operating while intoxicated and one count of child endangerment in exchange for Honebrink pleading guilty to one count of child endangerment.

Since being placed on probation in early 2013, Honebrink has twice been caught in Worth county for driving while her license is suspended.  She is awaiting a jury trial in Worth county on January 22 for the two charges of driving while suspended.  She has plead not guilty.

As a result of the August 22, 2012 incident involving drunk driving with children in the vehicle, Cerro Gordo county deputies notified child protective services who began an investigation.

Within weeks, the father of the children, Kyle Harlan, filed for custody of the children, court records indicate. Thirteen months later, the courts are still deciding that outcome.

Honebrink is in the Cerro Gordo County Jail at this time on $10,000 cash-only bond.
