niacc_trojans_logoENID, OK – The NIACC baseball team dropped an 11-1 eight-inning decision to GateWay CC Saturday morning in the opening round of the NJCAA Division II World Series at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

NIACC plays McHenry County College at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in an elimination game. Jones County CC stopped McHenry County 13-6 in its first-round game Saturday.
GateWay jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning and pushed its lead to 2-0 after the third inning.

Garrett Poole gained the win for the Geckos as he struck out four in seven innings of work and limiting the Trojans to a single run in the fifth inning.
