MASON CITY - An Osage man was hurt after his car slid off a road near Mason City and struck a tree.

MASON CITY – An Osage man was hurt after his car slid off a road near Mason City and struck a tree.

On January 3, 2022, at around 5:26 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of 300th Street and Mallard Avenue for a report of a single vehicle collision with injury. The vehicle, a 2008 Blue Ford Edge, driven by 26-year-old Eric Ashton Moreno of Osage, Iowa, was northbound on Mallard Avenue approaching 300th Street. Moreno was not able to stop at the stop sign and slid through the intersection. The vehicle then came to rest on the north side of 300th Street after coming into contact with a tree. Moreno was transported to Mercy One North Iowa with minor injuries by the Mason City Fire Department.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
