President Clinton coming to Iowa to support Vilsack

SIOUX CITY – Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Iowa this week to support Christie Vilsack.

Clinton will headline the Value of Common Sense rally in support of  Vilsack this Friday in Sioux City.

“It’s a privilege to have President Clinton’s support in this election, and I look forward to welcoming him to the Fourth District,” the Vilsack campaign said Monday.

Vilsack says she is honored to have Clinton support her campaign for Iowa’s 4th District Congressional seat.  She is running against Republican Congressman Steve King.

“He gave us the same kind of leadership I’ll bring to Congress,” Vilsack said, “as I fight for the Fourth District. I’m incredibly honored to have him here, and I know he’s going to fire us all up.

“His visit comes right as polls keep showing our race as one of the most competitive in the country, and recent polls show a statistical dead-heat.”

King is ahead in the most recent polls.
