Patsy Eichenberger, 74, dies; New Hampton woman leaves colorful legacy of children, art and laughter

NEW HAMPTON — Patricia Ann “Patsy” Eichenberger, a New Hampton woman remembered for her love of children, artistic gifts and joyful sense of fun, has died at age 74. A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton, with Rev. Davey Byrd officiating.

NEW HAMPTON — Patricia Ann “Patsy” Eichenberger, a New Hampton woman remembered for her love of children, artistic gifts and joyful sense of fun, has died at age 74.

Eichenberger passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Accura HealthCare of New Hampton.

She was born November 27, 1951. On June 15, 1984, she married Duane Eichenberger at the Little Brown Church.

Eichenberger worked for many years at the Stork Hatchery in Fredericksburg, where she was known as a dependable worker who also knew how to bring laughter into the workplace.

She also spent many years caring for children and became known in her community as a neighborhood nanny. Her love for children showed in the way she entertained them, comforted them and made them laugh. She enjoyed dressing as a clown, singing, dancing and painting faces.

Art was also a major part of Eichenberger’s life. She loved painting landscapes, nature scenes, portraits and caricatures. She painted pumpkins for her grandchildren, created Halloween costumes, and painted murals in Fredericksburg, including artwork displayed at the elementary school and a mural at the medical clinic.

Eichenberger also enjoyed cards, board games, singing and dancing. Her greatest happiness came from time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Eichenberger of Fredericksburg; her children, Mike Kuker and his wife, Stacy, of Clarksville, and Angel Dietz and Drew Zern of Allerton; her brothers, Tommy Kingsbury of Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Ronny Kingsbury of Lake Worth, Florida; her sister-in-law, Melody Kingsbury of New Hampton; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law; her son-in-law, Jason Dietz; her brother, Bobby Kingsbury; and her sister-in-law, Della Kingsbury.

A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton, with Rev. Davey Byrd officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Hampton.

Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
