CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A pair of meth dealers are jailed Wednesday after law enforcement took down their operation.
Cerro Gordo deputies attempted to stop a 2006 Lincoln Navigator near the 193 mile marker on Interstate 35 at about 10:30 PM Wednesday night, but the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Jeremiah Robert Van Den Hemel of Wanamingo, Minnesota, attempted to flee. The attempted stop was part of an on-going drug investigation. Deputies pursued and then disabled the vehicle at 170th Street and Thrush Avenue using a tire deflation device.
Van Den Hemel was arrested and charged with felony D eluding, felony B possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and felony D failure to affix a drug tax stamp. He was also wanted in Minnesota on a parole violation. He was jailed and now held on $100,000 bond.
Not long after, as part of the on-going investigation, a search warrant was executed at the home of 28-year-old Anthony James Bartusek at 1540 South Coolidge Avenue. Bartusek was arrested and charged with felony B possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, felony D failure to affix a drug tax stamp and simple misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also being held on $100,000 bond.
